I GOT IT FROM MY MAMA
Because Behind Every Great Story is a Mom
Celebrating All the Amazing Moms
“Moms, you are incredible! We see you. We celebrate you.”
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas, mother figures, and women who make the world go ‘round!
Whether you're managing a household, running a business, juggling school runs, or just keeping everyone alive, you make it look effortless (even when it's chaos behind the scenes). From magical hugs that make everything better to being the best multitaskers in the game, moms are the true definition of awesomeness.
Motherhood is incredibly rewarding, but let’s be real—it’s a lot of work. Taking care of everyone else means you can easily forget about you. Time to hit pause on the hustle and talk about something important: self-care. Because you can’t pour from an empty cup, mama.
Let’s jump into the self-care tips!
Create a No-Chores Zone:
For one day, forget your to-do list. Ask for help, delegate, or just say no. Rest is productive!
Enjoy Something Decadent:
Whether it’s wine, cake, silence, or a nap — indulge, unapologetically.
Start Your Day with Something That’s Just Yours:
Whether it’s journaling, prayer, meditation, or sipping tea in silence — carve out 10 minutes to just be.
Write Yourself a Love Note:
Celebrate everything you’ve accomplished, survived, created, and carried. Read it out loud.
Make a Feel-Good Playlist:
Songs that make you smile, dance, or cry happy tears.
Plant Power:
Buy a new plant or spend time nurturing the ones you already have. Taking care of plants boosts your mood, improves air quality, and gives you a simple way to unwind and reconnect with nature.
Pour Into Your Body
Take a long, scented bath
Do a yoga or stretch session
Moisturize like it’s a ritual, not just a routine
Book or DIY a Mini Pamper Session
Mani-pedi
Face mask & affirmations
DIY foot soak with Epsom salt, essential oils, and vibes
Create a Gratitude List:
Write down everything you’re grateful for — from the little things (a hot cup of coffee) to the big things (your family, your health). Take time to reflect on the blessings that being a mom brings.
Read or Watch Something That Celebrates You:
Curl up with a book, doc, or movie that centers around Black women and motherhood. Check out these recommendations:

Moms are always on the go, so here are some simple hacks to help make life a little easier.
-
The “Mom Triage” Method: Instead of trying to do it all, focus on what is important.
✅ Must-Do Today: Urgent & essential (e.g., work deadlines, doctor’s appointments).
✅ Nice-to-Do: Can wait if needed (e.g., organizing the pantry, responding to non-urgent emails).
✅ Delegate or Delete: If it doesn’t serve you, let it go.Mom Hack: Each night, write down three things to focus on the next day. If everything feels urgent, ask: “Will this matter next week? Next month?” If not, push it back or delegate.
-
The 2-Minute Rule: If a task takes less than two minutes, do it now—responding to a quick text, loading the dishwasher, or scheduling an appointment.
Task Batching: Instead of switching between tasks all day, group similar ones together. You’ll cut down on decision fatigue and give yourself more space to breathe.
✅ Meal Prep: Plan & prep meals on Sundays to save time during the week.
✅ Errands: Knock out multiple errands in one trip instead of going out daily.
✅ Self-Care Time: Set a non-negotiable block for yourself (even if it’s just 10 minutes).Mom Hack: Use voice notes or a notes app to jot down reminders on the go instead of feeling like you have to remember everything.
-
Moms you are leaders, and leaders delegate. Many women struggle with delegation because they feel:
❌ “It’s faster if I do it myself.”
❌ “I don’t want to burden others.”
❌ “No one can do it as well as I can.”Reality Check: If you don’t delegate, you’ll stay stuck in survival mode.
How to Delegate Effectively:
✅ Start Small: Offload one task this week.
✅ Be Clear: Give specific instructions and a timeline.
✅ Let Go of Perfection: Done is better than perfect.Mom Hack: List three tasks you can delegate right now—at work, home, or in your business.
